Gilles Aillaud has been the subject of major monographic exhibitions and publications, including the Musée des Beaux-Arts, Rennes, France (2015); Bibliothèque Nationale de France, Paris (2010); Villa Médicis, Rome, Italy (2007); Museo Reina Sofia, Madrid, Spain (1991); Institute of Contemporary Art, London (1982); and Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, France (1969). A retrospective of his works on paper is currently on view at the Villa Tamaris, La Seyne-sur-mer, France, until March 19, 2019. His work is represented in numerous institutional collections, including the Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris, France; Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, France; Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam, the Netherlands; Museo Reina Sofia, Madrid, Spain; and Museum Boijmans van Beuningen, Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
